Corrosion Control/Drinking Water Regulatory Workshop – West Sacramento – April 5, 2018

Corrosion Control portion covers water quality parameters used to predict corrosive properties of raw & treated drinking water that can result in lead leaching into drinking water from customer plumbing. It also covers water treatment & water quality adjustments that can mitigate corrosion of water system piping & assist systems with meeting the requirements of the USEPA Lead & Copper Rule. The Drinking Water Regulatory portion will provide attendees with an overview of Federal Regulations as well as California Regulations: USEPA: 1972 Surface Water Treatment Rule, Arsenic Rule, Filter Backwash Recycling Rule, Groundwater Rule, Interim Enhanced Surface Water Rule, Lead & Copper Rule, Disinfection Byproducts rule(s), Long Term 1 & Long Term 2, public Notification Rule, stage 2 & total coliform rule CA Regulation Title 22 CCR (Chromium 6 & Fluoride Dosing).

Backflow Refresher Workshop – West Sacramento – April 6, 2018

Backflow Prevention and Methods, Hydraulics and Theory, Regulations and Codes, System Protection, Field Test Procedures, Safety, Troubleshooting and Hands-On Testing. Attendees must have previously completed a 40 hours Backflow Course.

Customer Service Workshop – West Sacramento – April 18-19, 2018

Only Day 2 is eligible for contact hours (earn up to 8). Day 1: Concentrate on problem-solving & decision-making skills required for evaluating & effectively resolving customer service complaints, both real & perceived. Day 2: Develop skills as a member of a high-performance work team. This will emphasize your understanding of your role as a member of the larger community of water industry professionals who are serving the public by working for water utilities responsible for a safe & adequate water supply. As a result, the basic ideas of teamwork are taught with water fundamentals & water conservation as part of the background required for understanding water utility rules, regulations, policies, basic terminology & operations.

Water Use Efficiency Grade 1 Workshop – West Sacramento – May 7-8, 2018

2 Day Workshop for those who already have a very basic understanding of the water industry and want to build a deeper knowledge of the water supply in the Western US, the roles different agencies play in supply and conservation, and basic conservation measures for Residential, CII, and Landscaping. The class covers different types of conservation programming, and it discusses various strategies depending on the type of organization and the desired results. Throughout the class, various types of water math problems are reviewed as they apply to water conservation calculations.
