Cross Connection Course – West Sacramento – June 5-9, 2017

Examination of administration and technical procedures required for cross connection control program with emphasis on recycled water use, including system inspection, hazard evaluation and identification of cross connections and application of appropriate backflow protection. Study procedures to conduct cross connection control site survey and shutdown test for auxiliary water use sites. This class goes beyond cross connection control to include public health protection and environmental protection as it pertains to recycled water use. Student Outcomes: Students shall be able to: set up a cross connection control program, complete a cross connection control site survey and test, understand and describe hydraulic activity that causes backflow, recognize a cross connection and assign appropriate cross connection control measures and locate applicable codes and regs for cross connection control and recycled water use.

This course is Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.  REHS Approved.

Backflow Tester Course – West Sacramento – June 19-23, 2017

This course (half lecture and half hands-on training) provides the testing and maintenance methods for backflow prevention assemblies. Participants will learn how to recognize various backflow preventers and the proper procedures for testing each assembly under a variety of test conditions. This course will review all the rules, codes, and regulations on backflow requirements.

***The Backflow Certification Exam is a separate application and fee.***

This course is 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Earn 4.0 CEUs.

Introduction to Water Distribution – West Sacramento – June 26-30, 2017

Prerequisites: 3.6 CEUs Completion with Grade C or better and attendance of at least 36 hours.

This one week 36 hours course provides a comprehensive introduction to water distribution systems for Water Distribution Operators at the apprenticeship level. Participants learn key concepts and terms in topic areas including: water sources and regulations; wells and pumps; water pressure and head; water and power; instrumentation and controls; and water distribution system operation. The essentials of water mathematics are introduced throughout the course to increase your skill in using formulas and conversion factors on the job.

This course is Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.  REHS Approved.
