Help Reshape California’s Urban Landscape
Do you want to help reshape California’s urban landscape?
The California Urban Water Conservation Council (Council) is recruiting to fill the position of program manager for its sustainable landscaping initiative.
You:
- Know that half of the water used in California’s urban areas is used to irrigate the landscape, and much of that goes to thirsty, climate-inappropriate plants.
- Recognize that a more sustainable approach to urban landscaping provides California with many benefits. These include: increased water savings; reduced run off of contaminated storm water; healthier soils; reduced use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers; reduced fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions; and increased habitat for birds and beneficial insects.
- Want to help accelerate the transition to sustainable landscaping by facilitating the collaboration of a diverse group of passionate, committed stakeholders.
- Have the right combination of training and experience necessary to support public policy collaborations in sustainable landscaping and related water efficiency initiatives.
We:
Are a 25-year old, Sacramento-based nonprofit with a statewide membership. Our members include water supply utilities, environmental advocacy organizations, state agencies and water industry businesses and professionals. We provide technical expertise and facilitation support for interest-based, consensus-seeking public policy collaboratives that promote increased urban water efficiency and other environmental and economic benefits.
