According the California Department of Water Resources, recent snow surveys have shown a snow pack that is “…well above average for the date.” With the excess water now stored in our mountain regions, I would like to take the opportunity to remind Sacramento area residents to continue to do their part to conserve water. During years when Mother Nature sees fit to grace California with an abundance of water the focus should be on banking that water to ensure our supplies remain reliable for future years. The Sacramento region has taken large strides to become leaders in water stewardship, and that trend can continue even in years of water abundance. Please contact your water provider for more information about local and regional water conservation programs.
