The SSWD General Manager has authorized a recruitment for Distribution Operator I/II and online applications are now being accepted.
The Position: The Distribution Operator I/II performs a variety of duties in the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of water distribution facility systems, including repairing main and service line leaks and breaks; installing, repairing and maintaining water system infrastructure such as water mains, gate valves, meter connections, angle stops, service pipes, corporation stops and appurtenances; responding to customer complaints; and other duties as required. This position is considered a “first responder” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within thirty (30) minutes travel time of the District’s Corporation Yard (5331 Walnut Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95841). Benefits package includes CalPERS retirement under PEPRA and fully-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance; voluntary deferred compensation; educational reimbursement program; and paid vacation and holidays.
