Western states face an ongoing water supply shortage. Most agencies have identified the need to develop new water supplies in the future. This presentation and tour will highlight the operational challenges faced in developing a new water supply. These include both anticipated and unanticipated challenges faced by the City during pumping from the San Joaquin River Delta, raw water pipeline flushing, membrane treatment of two unique water sources, and integrating the new treated water into an existing distribution system.
